Death by PowerPoint

Death by PowerPoint

After weeks of freedom, one of our greatest Covid fears has suddenly spread like a virus from the boardroom to the Beehive. Death by PowerPoint was the unwelcome guest at today's 1pm briefing. Some of the media managed to stay awake. But few could actually see the dreary Ministry of Health slides. Certainly no one at home could read the cluttered content. The tiny text and 90's clip art were invisible on our TV's; laptops, and smartphones. If you must use PowerPoint, remember one thing: slides are not documents. An engaging slide should look like a billboard. There's usually one strong image; very few words, and one clear message. Audiences attend meetings and briefings to hear from you. They don't go to read your slides.
